Keep Your Skin Glowing During Cold

he results are in. The two main ingredients for keeping
your skin happy and healthy are as follows: water and
rest. However, as we all know, it takes a bit of extra effort
during the winter months to maintain a glowing
complexion. Here’s the down low on a winter skin regimen
that is remarkably good – and good for you!

First and foremost, take care of your body’s basic needs.
This means nutrition, hydration, and relaxation. Keeping
skin well-hydrated and well-nourished means it will absorb
water and nutrients on a cellular level and, as a result,
appear healthier. You’ll get that “glow” that everyone
  strives for.

What should you drink? Water is the obvious answer, but green tea is also a big helper in the skin department. It is full of
wrinkle-fighting antioxidants. It even helps fight skin’s redness (a problem in winter, particularly). What should you eat? Here’s
where it gets juicy.  Cantaloupe, blueberries, olives and olive oil, and sunflower seeds all do their part to make your face a
better place. Cantaloupe has been proven to keep your face glowing, due to its large amounts of Vitamin A. As for blueberries,
just half a cup will give you more than enough of the antioxidants your body needs. Stock up on your fruits! Sunflower seeds, even
just a handful a day, have enough Vitamin E to give your skin’s outer layers a huge fighting chance against sun damage – yes,
it’s still a threat to your skin, even in winter!

Next time you’re at the store, check a few items off of this affordable, healthy list of beauty products:
- Trader Joe’s All-In-One Facial Cleanser. It truly is all-in-one – and you’ll notice an instant glow!
- Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract. Cool because it’s a quick way to remove dirt, oil, and makeup.
Amazing because it’s a natural way to even skin tone (cucumber and botanical extracts, oh my!).
- Aveeno Positively Radiant Eye Illuminator. Good for dark under-eye circles.
- Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick. Easy way to zap those zits before they even know what hit ‘em.
Just remember: water, rest, and antioxidants, antioxidants, antioxidants! This winter, stay cool. Your glow is here to stay.
