Three Fashion Houses debuted their Spring/
Summer 2012 Collection in New York during the
Planete Chic Fashion Week.
Designer Adriana Cobo from Ecuador was the first
designer to show. Her collection entitled “Genesis
Warriors” came out beautifully in neutral, blue
and copper colors. The contemporary pieces from
casual draped shorts and tops to cocktail dresses
with unique silhouettes and bridals with lovely
textures all looked wearable, comfortable and
beautiful.
Alberto Rodriguez a Mexico based fashion designer
presented his ultra feminine Spring/Summer 2012
collection called “Couture Pretty Collection”
It was modern with retro details, lots of floral
prints, metallics and silks. He opened the show with
silk brocade dresses with big flower appliqués
followed by dresses with lovely prints and ruffles
and ended with bridal dresses with intricate details.
The final show of the night was Italian high fashion
designer Sarli Couture, one of the most prestigious
names of Rome’s high fashion trade. He dressed
celebrities such as Liz Taylor, Carla Bruni
and Monica Bellucci. His pieces of impeccable
craftsmanship was enthusiastically received by
the crowd. His collection was reminiscent of the
Mediterranean coasts. Well sculptured dresses in
light colors started the show, followed by cocktail
dresses in vibrant colors, deep blue, green and orange.
The dresses with meticulous beading
were my favorite. The show ended with
beautiful bridal dresses.
