Summer Style
bright and bold
This summer’s trends are dripping
with vitality. Bold colors are bringing
the 80’s back; just a quick trip to your
local shopping mall will prove it. Neon
hues of pink, orange, and turquoise
are lining the shelves, giving you the
opportunity to kick off  the summer
with a bang. Summer is the perfect
time to try on a brighter shade of

Everybody loves their first tan of the
summer season. Something about
having a sunkissed glow brings out
the true feeling of summer. But
nobody likes to burn or peel;
two very common results of
overexposure to the sun. There is
a way to protect your skin from the
sun’s harmful UV rays while allowing
yourself to get a nice, golden tan.
It will take longer for your skin to
darken, but it’s better than risking
your protection from the sun.

Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture
With sleek and sophisticated style, the roaring 1920s
decade is an important one in fashion history. Production
team Herrera-Dumont recreates this look in these
photographs, emphasizing the simple yet chic structure
of the era with a modernized edge. Fashion is
experimental and mixing styles from different eras
creates a look that is utterly unique. In this shoot,
the make-up pays special attention to the lips and eyes.
The red lips emphasize their fullness and dark,
smoky eyes compliment the perfectly
porcelain face. This model also replicates the popular
1920’s fingerwave hairstyle. Fingerwaves are known as
the art of sculpting and shaping the hair into waves
close to the head; this hairstyle allowed women to
feel classical and be sexy with their short hair and
create a powerful, yet beautiful, appearance.

The fashions of this time were highly glamorous.
When we think of the roaring 20’s we imagine the
flapper style, adorned with fringe, feathers and beads.
The styling here does pay homage to the classical 20s
but gives a high fashion edge of the millennium.
The long, black fingernails are bold and instill a
sense a power that vindicates the ornate intricacy
of the models chandelier earrings. There is no
doubt that the designing here is meant to represent
a strong woman, embodied with success and
sensuality alike. The combination of the 20s look
with modern fashions creates a style any woman
would envy.
